The Society's magazine is called Andon. The magazine is mailed only to members of the SJA, a
separate subscription is not possible. See the
membership
section about how to become a member. It is however possible
for non-members to order back
issues of Andon as well.
Andon was first published in 1981.
Since then over 85 issues have been sent to our members.
The bulletin contains illustrated articles on
various aspects of Japanese art as well as book reviews. Among
its regular contributors are scholars such as John Carpenter, Jan Dees,
Jan van Doesburg, John Fiorillo, Susanne Formanek, Matthi
Forrer, Roger Keyes, Heinz & Else
Kress, Sepp Linnhart, Hendrick Lühl, Ellis Tinios and Peter Ujlaki.
